Day 1 – Interlaken
On arrival in Switzerland at either Zurich or Geneva airport, you transfer directly by train to Interlaken- a Mecca for visitors with its spectacular scenery. Day at leisure to explore Interlaken’s Hoheweg – an inviting 700 meter long boulevard with hotels, cosy cafes, fashion boutiques, watch and jewellery stores. As dusk draws near, admire the mountains by taking an optional dinner cruise on Lake Brienz (from May to August only). Overnight in Interlaken.
Day 2 – Interlaken – Jungfrau
Depart on an excursion from Interlaken to Jungfrau- Top of Europe. This memorable train trip from Interlaken Ost takes you via Lauterbrunnen and Wengen to the Kleine Scheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall. Then ascend by the Jungfrau Railway to the magnificent mountain world of eternal ice and snow, Jungfrau at 3454mts, the highest railway station in Europe. Visit the Ice Palace and Sphinx Terraces offering breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. Overnight in Interlaken.
Day 3 – Zermatt
Travel through the wonderful Bernese Oberland and the Lotschberg to Brig and then further to Zermatt. Zermatt, at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, is a world without cars. Electric-cars and horse-drawn sleighs and carriages are the only transport allowed. It’s the perfect Alpine resort for rest and relaxation. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 4 – Chur
After breakfast, travel on the world famous Glacier Express train to Chur. (In Winter-time the Glacier Express has only 1st class coaches). Optional midday meal in the dining car. Overnight in Chur.
Day 5 – Lucerne
Today you depart to the city of lights- Lucerne. Day at leisure to explore the lovely city or visit the Swiss Transport Museum, IMAX Theatre or the Lion Monument. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 6 – Lucerne – Stanserhorn
Today you will visit the spectacular Stanserhorn. A 20 minute train journey will take you to Stans. Here you will transfer to a vintage train which has been in operation since 1893 and will take you up to the intermediate station Kalti. The rest of the journey to the top is by the world’s first open top double decker cable car which will take 24 minutes to reach the peak. Once on top, spend some time relaxing in one of the deck chairs in the lazy –zone or grab a bite in the restaurant before making your way back to town. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 7 – Depart
This morning after breakfast depart catch a train to airport for your flight back.
